I am dying to go on another road trip soon to go out and enjoy some scenery and find some nice things to take photos of. Until then, here are some photos from the other night.

Town Center

Today, I hung out with my friend, Josh in Town Center to get some lunch and walk around to take some photos.  We ate at Guadalajara and then hiked to the top of the Westin which wore me out before we were even finished!

Beach Night

Tonight was the first time I have been to the beach all summer, which feels so weird considering I live in Virginia Beach, but it isn't my fault...I've been working so much lately, so I'm always too busy or too tired to go to the beach, but I had time tonight so I went with some friends. It would have been more enjoyable if tourists weren't taking over the entire boardwalk, but what else is new...

When we left the beach, we met up with another friend at IHOP and the cutest, nicest ol' waitress we could have possibly had. I wish I got a picture of her so you could all see just how sweet she was.

Lesson #1

The other night, James and I went to Mark Gamboa's studio so he could give me my first lighting lesson and help with a few photography techniques I will need to help shoot this wedding next month. After the business part of it was over, then came the goofing off.

The wedding we are shooting is on September 11th. Before that time, I need to purchase a Speedlite, so hopefully I can find a really good price on one. Know of any good deals?

Smithfield, Virginia

Today, my boyfriend, his friend's Mark and Crystal, and myself all took a nice road trip out to Smithfield, Virginia. The first half hour or so was business for my boyfriend and Mark, but all of the time following was taken up by a photo excursion in the downtown area of the city. It was a nice break from the cluttered, noisy city of Virginia Beach, and it made for some great photos.  I was very pleased, mid-excursion, to stumble upon an animal rescue tent in the Main Street fair they were having and met some adorable kittens and puppies who all need good homes. If I could have, they would have all left Smithfield with me.

New Photo Blog!

I decided it was time that I made a photography blog as a way to get my photos seen by more people and get more criticism on my work, so here is my very first post and a little sample of what I do:
